Our Mission
At Elevate The Pitch, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to play soccer, regardless of their financial situation. Our mission is to provide travel soccer scholarships to underserved players in Indiana by removing barriers to access the game.

Why We Exist
The Derek Dolenc Memorial Foundation was created to honor the life of Derek Dolenc, the oldest of four siblings, a collegiate golfer at SIUE, and a man remembered for his strength, humility, and heart. In 2022, we also lost Derek’s younger brother, Kent Dolenc, a fellow SIUE golf alum, to a tragic car accident. Their legacy lives on through our continued commitment to the Dolenc Invitational Golf Tournament held annually by SIUE — a tribute to their character, love of sport, and impact on others.
What began as a memorial foundation has grown into a mission-driven effort to serve youth in their honor. Today, we operate as Elevate The Pitch, a nonprofit dedicated to removing financial barriers for young soccer players in Hamilton County. Through this work, we carry forward the values Derek and Kent lived by — perseverance, leadership, and lifting others through sport.
Who We Help
Our focus is on families in Indiana with a financial need and a child ready to take the next step into competitive soccer.
If a young athlete has the drive, passion, and potential — we’re here to make sure cost isn’t the reason they miss out.
How It Works
We partner with local soccer programs to identify families with need.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, character, and commitment to both soccer and academics.
We aim to support 4 players in our first year — and grow from there.
